Hardening workplace concept suitable for small to medium series of castings
The workplace consists of a vertical electric chamber furnace with forced circulation of the internal atmosphere KNC-V 1500/65 and a quenching bath KLV 3400, which in terms of volume allow processing a stainless steel charging basket the size of a gitterbox (floor plan of a Euro pallet 1200x800mm, height 900mm), into which castings from alloys based on AlSiMg or AlCuMg are inserted or poured. The quenching bath is supplemented with a water-air heat exchanger for cooling the water bath.
The workplace is further formed by a welded steel crane groove with an electric rope winch, which is used to move the charging basket. The charge must be inserted into the quenching tank no later than 15 seconds after the furnace is opened, which is solved by a special hanging clamp, which allows for quick attachment of the charging basket and its subsequent safe and quick movement into the quenching tank. After cooling, the basket with the charge is moved to the floor next to the quenching tank from where it is moved by a forklift for further manipulation.
Another possible heat treatment is artificial aging with heating to 150 °C and subsequent gradual cooling in air.
This workplace concept is suitable for small to medium series of castings and its ratio of performance, consumption and acquisition costs is extremely favorable.
