Modernizing holding furnaces will bring you significant savings in operating costs
The subject of the modernization, carried out for a renowned manufacturer of aluminum castings, are holding furnaces, which are used to hold and transport molten non-ferrous metals in the production process.
The modernization is carried out with an emphasis on energy saving and the aim of reducing heat losses of the equipment. We managed to achieve this thanks to the new composition of the furnace chamber insulation system using microporous insulation panels and the use of refractory concrete fittings of our own production, which optimally accumulate the working temperature in the furnace chamber. An innovative system of attaching heating coils to the grooves of the inner lining of the furnace is also used. The saving of electrical energy (compared to the original state of the furnace) is up to 15% of the consumption per one modernized furnace. The modernization costs are up to 2/3 of the price of a new furnace.
Our reconstruction solution:
- Blasting and restoration of the surface paint of the existing cladding
- Insulation of the furnace space with fiber mats and microporous insulation panels
- New refractory concrete lining of the furnace bottom
- Use of custom-made refractory concrete fittings for interior lining
- New electric furnace equipment including spiral heating elements and other electrical accessories
