Continuous ovens in compact "paternoster" design for curing silicone on engine parts - water pumps
We supplied two continuous ovens to a major manufacturer and supplier of engine components for curing thermal paste (silicone) on manufactured engine parts - water pumps. The customer's requirement in this case was high heat treatment capacity and at the same time small installation dimensions of the equipment.
Due to the very large resulting total length of the classic continuous furnace (around 8 meters due to the required high heat treatment capacity), we designed and manufactured two fully automated furnaces with the designation SV 5200/15, which use an internal conveyor for moving the charge of the "paternoster" type. The processed parts, placed 4 pieces each in a loading fixture (pallet) and suspended on a chain conveyor, pass through the furnace in an S-shaped path in both vertical and horizontal directions during the thermal process. The parts pass through the heating zone, harden at a temperature of 135 °C and are cooled to a temperature below 60 °C by the cold air produced before exiting the furnace.
The furnace is loaded and unloaded at the same location through a pneumatically opened door and is adapted for robot operation. The furnace is equipped with a detection of the occupancy of the positions in the loading fixture (pallet) and reading of the digital code from the processed part. The furnace can be modified to a different type of charge by replacing the loading fixtures (pallets) and adjusting the temperature curves.
