Chamber furnaces for annealing or drying aluminum wire in cable production
We supplied two SV 24000 chamber furnaces to a major manufacturer of electrical cables for transportation, energy, and industry, in which the annealing or drying process of aluminum wire takes place.
The aim of installing new annealing furnaces was mainly to modernize the original equipment (the original furnaces were associated with disproportionately increasing service and repair costs) and to increase the efficiency of heat treatment – annealing at a temperature of 380 °C, semi-hard annealing at a temperature of 285 °C and pre-drying at a temperature of 80 °C. The customer thus gained the possibility of introducing a pre-drying process at a temperature of 80 °C, which the original furnaces were unable to do.
These are chamber furnaces with forced circulation of the internal atmosphere, internal temperature distribution of +- 5 °C, three-zone temperature control and forced cooling. The charge is very bulky drums with wire, which need to be rolled into the furnaces. We have therefore designed the bottom of the furnaces so that it is flush with the surrounding terrain. The doors are fully automatic, opening upwards.
