Curing thermal paste on automotive printed circuit boards
Carousel ovens (carousel ovens) are suitable for continuous heat treatment of parts that are placed on a conveyor or pallet by a rotating oven. They are suitable for both manual loading and automatic loading by a robot. Specifically, the SV 700/10 oven is used for curing thermal paste on PCB coolers (printed circuit boards) and we have also successfully supplied a similar solution, the SV 1800/15 carousel oven, for the process of heating products (automotive control units inserted in a plastic housing) before their final testing.
To save the dimensions of the SV 700/10 furnace, a solution with two conveyor floors above each other is used. The furnace is divided into a heating zone and a cooling zone. There is a partition between the cooling part and the heated part. The furnace is equipped with a climate control cooling unit for controlled cooling of parts in the cooling zone.
The parts to be processed are placed in the oven by a robot. The oven also has guide pins on which the part is placed and a camera that evaluates whether the assembly is placed correctly. The door for placing and removing parts from the oven is on the same side and can be closed with a pneumatic door. At the exit from the oven, the part passes under an ionizer. The oven includes an exhaust fan and a filter unit in which gases generated during the hardening of the thermal paste are filtered.
