Furnace designed for crane-assisted melt transport
The PTTS electric holding transport furnace is suitable for quick and easy transport of molten aluminum and its alloys between the melting furnace and the workplace where casting into molds takes place. The furnace is prepared for use with a crane and has its own manually operated tilting mechanism with a control wheel. During transport and tilting, the furnace must be disconnected from the switchboard and the heating is not in operation. The maximum temperature in the heating space is 900 °C in the holding variant, but the furnace can also be supplied with enhanced power to a melting temperature of 1000 °C. The cast iron collar guarantees a long service life of the crucible. The Ht40T regulator and the main control elements are located in a separate wall-mounted switchboard.
The furnaces are designed in a compact octagonal design with an emphasis on energy saving, minimal installation dimensions and with the aim of reducing the dimensions of the heated furnace chamber and reducing heat losses of the equipment. We managed to achieve this thanks to a new insulation system and an innovative system for attaching heating coils to the grooves of refractory concrete blocks, which optimally accumulate the working temperature in the furnace chamber.
