Furnace with paternoster style conveyor which offers high heat treatment capacity
The device is intended for preheating and hardening of molds with transformers. For space reasons, the furnace conveyor is of the paternoster type. Compared to the commonly used type of furnace with a belt conveyor, a much smaller built-up area can be achieved, the conveyor is oriented vertically, which shortens the length of the material flow through the production process and simplifies handling.
An example of this solution is the SV 45400 furnace, supplied to a major transformer manufacturer. Transformer molds are placed on the shelves of the paternoster conveyor through the entrance door. The shelves are kept in a horizontal position along the entire route of the paternoster conveyor, so there is no risk of damage to the conveyor in the event of uneven shelf loading (e.g. improper placement). Each shelf can be loaded with up to 450 kg of charge with a shelf loading area (w×h×d) of 2300×500×800 mm and 10 shelves in the furnace. The total furnace load is therefore 4500 kg. The circulation of the internal atmosphere in the furnace is coordinated with the operation of the conveyor so that the temperature of the molds is constantly within the required limits; during the operation of the conveyor, the molds first pass through the heating zone, then the temperature holding zone and the cooling zone.
If required, we are able to use this type of conveyor up to a maximum oven temperature of 350 °C.
